Clean Makeup and Natural Deodorant
One of the first things that I like to do in the New Year is start fresh and clean out my toiletries. It’s not something that we do often but throwing away all of those expired products is the right move. Trust me…your skin will thank you! For example, face wash and moisturizer only last about 6 months. So if it’s been longer than that, it’s time for it to go! After this time, the active ingredients start to lose their effectiveness so they’re not doing you any good anyways. It’s always important to have a good skin care routine regardless of whether you wear makeup on a regular basis. Your face is the one part of your body that is exposed to the elements year-round so making sure you are cleansing dirt and oils off while replacing it with healthy moisture is essential.
When it’s time to restock I like to look for clean beauty brands that I know will keep my skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated. One of my favorites is Ilia Beauty because of their focus around transparency of ingredients as well as their commitment to creating safe, healthy, and effective beauty products. What’s great about Ilia is that their skin products have a very natural look and feel so your skin still looks like skin, not cakey or thick like other makeup brands. They are designed to be simple instead of complicated, which only adds to the reasons why I like them.
After you renew any skin and face care products, you’ll want to take a peek at your body care.
